UC Davis Health System seeks two dynamic, engergetic, motivated senior-level programmers to join the Web communications team in the Department of Public Affairs and Marketing.
Long Description:
Two full-time career Programmer VI positions at UC Davis Health System, Department of Public Affairs and Marketing, located in Sacramento, with working hours of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and working days of Monday - Friday. This classification is not represented by a union. These positions will remain open until filled.
UC Davis Health System seeks two dynamic, engergetic, motivated senior-level programmers to work in the Department of Public Affairs and Marketing. Ideal candidates will be motivated and driven to create successful and engaging customer-oriented Web sites.
24-hour on-call work required.
Position Information:
The Web Communications Programmer positions serve as lead programmer, systems administrator, and IT project manager, act as a technical resource and leader to others in the department, as well as junior level programming staff. Incumbents oversee and participate in the development of Web applications and management of the content and digital asset management systems, analytics program and search engine utility.
These positions are directly involved in short- and long-term strategic planning and work with department team members, server administrators, other health system departments, and outside agencies to develop strategies, capabilities and priorities to optimize the health system's Web presence and to maximize the effectiveness of Web communications in achieving institutional goals, objectives and strategic priorities. Incumbents will work directly with customers and marketing staff on project deliverables and therefore must be comfortable working in a marketing environment.
Requirements:
Incumbents must have a thorough understanding in the creative use of the World Wide Web as a communications tool, the needs of Web audiences and how they use the Web. Demonstrated knowledge and experience developing Internet applications; implementing search engines; architecting, installing, upgrading and maintaining Interwoven's TeamSite content management system. Proven track record of successfully producing and designing deliverables.
Knowledge of and hands-on experience with large-scale Internet Web site architecture and implementations based on RSS, XML, HTML, DHTML, XHTML, XSLT, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, Java, J2EE, JSP, and Perl. Web marketing experience is ideal. Experience with and knowledge of search engine optimization.
Experience managing Web metrics applications (WebTrends preferred). Understand usability and section 508. Experience with Web information architecture development. Podcast and blog implementation experience a HUGE plus. Strong project management experience to include developing projects, establishing timelines and budgets and documenting work.
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple inputs with competing deadlines, ensuring follow-through on all activities. Excellent communication skills both oral and written, excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills for interaction with the health system community; and ability to work as an effective team member and develop working relationships needed to accomplish organizational goals.
Special Requirements:
Must be able to work 24-hour on-call duty to support production applications.
